Kudos pub in Glasgow

This was a commission for Scottish and Newcastle Pub Company, the brief was to capture a refurbishment of this Glaswegian pub residing in the financial district, after it had a fire and emerged with a new identity. It was slick like its clientele and was a dream to shoot… more to come including chef showing off with some flame action!

Contortion and lad dads in Sugar this month

Well this week I am super pleased to have shots in two articles of this month’s edition of Sugar mag. One reports international teenage contortionist Cristina’s story of non traditional schooling and instead doing lots of crazy bending and shooting of bows and arrows from her feet, as you do! The other is a gritty real life report of the teen lads group here in Newcastle which led to work previously posted for Barnardo’s, all interesting stuff!

Sugar Comission

I have recently been commissioned by Sugar magazine in London to cover stories in the northern region. The magazine is targeted at teenage girls and covers a broad range of real life stories. I have covered teen bully victims, teen dads and a teen contortionist who ran away with the circus. The commissions are fantastic as they are real adventures into unknown worlds.

This one was a little sad as the subject Beth, had been seriously bullied on Facebook with a group of 150 people from her school joining a hate group and sending death threats. I hoped the shoot would be a little bit of respite and fun for her, and in turn, raise awareness of the horrors of bullying.

Teen dads and circus girl will be up once Sugar release them…
