Hayley and Tony Northumberland Beach Wedding

You wouldn’t believe this was only last month would you? What glorious sunny weather Hayley and Tony were blessed with on this stunning stretch of Northumberland coast. It was an amazingly romantic setting, for an extremely romantic couple.

I felt really privileged to be shooting this as the family, guests and couple were such a joy to be around all day. Thank goodness it was fabulous weather as Tony’s family had travelled from New Zealand so it was important the Northern coastline was shown off to its best! Tony’s creative and generous mother had handmade the rings adding an incredible personal touch to the wedding ceremony at a baking hot Alnwick Registry Office.

A relaxed reception followed at a rented holiday house on the sea front with guests each bringing dishes, sitting and chatting on rugs in the garden. The party spilled out on to Newton Beach where the kids paddling in the sea in their finery! The chaps rolled their trousers up chatting in the waves and the ladies ditched their heels for a game of frisbee (yep.. thats how you spell it, I googled it)!

After a stroll up the beach with the happy couple to Embleton Bay to capture some very special wedding shots using Dunstanburgh Castle as a backdrop, the day concluded with a meal and celebratory toasts at The Ship Inn on Newton Beach for all the guests. It was a truly fantastic day!

Congratulations Hayley and Tony and I wish you a wonderful future together!

Keith Moss Wedding Workshop at Wynyard Hall

Last week I signed up for a super valuable training day through Teesside University with my mentor Keith Moss to shoot at a venue I hadn’t been to before.

Wynyard Hall is notoriously difficult to shoot in due to the light conditions so we had the chance to guide our models and experiment with our equipment- something you just can’t do on your client’s special day!!

The results were great and the day was fun, we had wedding guests, sunshine and lots of nerdy photography talk… and to any fellow photographers, Keith is a top guy and his workshops are well worth the investment, his style is relaxed and his knowledge is vast see whats on offer at www.kiethmossphotography.co.uk

Christine and John’s wedding, Close House

Chris and John chose Close House in Northumberland as a dramatic setting to have their February wedding. The house has just had a refurbishment and looked spectacular. The sun shone and the guests were jolly! Here is a sneaky peek of a handful from the day, more to come….

Karen & San Wedding Photography

This wedding was a pleasure to shoot with the bride and groom perfectly colour coordinated with the gorgeous red brick backdrop of Hotel du Vin on Newcastle’s Quayside. Whilst the grand halls of Northumberland are always spectacular locations there was something real and familiar about this local backdrop.

After the tear jerking ceremony the reception was held in the Regeneration Centre on the Tyne bank.  As the bride’s parents gave an entertaining and moving speech, the sky looked threatening and dramatic allowing me to capture some corkers with the bridges in the picture. Karen’s little Figaro was also a dream to shoot with the Spiller’s Tyne Mill in the distance and as my brief from Karen and San had been to capture the day’s most special parts incorporating local landmarks, I thought it would be rude not to get this in too!

Hope you enjoy having a ‘neb’! (and for those who aren’t geordie – http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/neb)
